Title: Community Benefits Consultant
Full time 6 month contract (40 hours/week)
Based in Toronto (remote with in person meetings)
$55,000 – $70,000 annual salary prorated for 6 months

By building relationships between social suppliers and purchasers, Buy Social Canada is leading the movement for community capital creators across the country.

Our team is fast paced as interest in social procurement and community benefits is skyrocketing. We are looking for someone with convening, writing and facilitation skills to work with corporations, governments, non-profits, and institutions to support the development of social procurement policies, implementation strategies and training.

Social procurement is an emerging field and a powerful tool for community wealth building. We are looking for someone who can learn and contribute with their existing skills. This could be you if you are:

  • Passionate about social and community impact
  • Detail-oriented
  • Strong writing and communication skills
  • Bring unique talents and skills to the team. Our team background runs the gamut from law, economics and community development to journalism and even Italian literature!

Responsibilities

  • Coordination of Community Benefit Agreement (CBA) Liaison services in Ontario and elsewhere in Canada including coordination and facilitating meetings with clients, data collection and reporting
  • Support project managers with client deliverables, preparing presentations, and editing reports
  • Attend and present at in person and virtual ecosystem events
  • Coordination and administrative support on key Buy Social Canada initiatives, training and consulting projects
  • Administrative support for internal and external meetings including:
    • Coordination of internal and external meetings
    • Drafting of minutes and meeting summaries from internal and external meetings
    • Drafting follow-up correspondence from meetings
  • Other duties and responsibilities as required (based on operational requirements and your interests and skills)

Role details

Our remote working team is located in Vancouver, BC and Toronto, ON.  We are looking for someone based in Toronto who can work remotely and attend in person meetings for Toronto projects.
